Do you need someone who understands the pain and trauma you have been going through? Austin not only understands, but also has answers. It can be so difficult to reach out for help, and you may have been trying to get better alone. But, you don’t have to do things on your own. You don’t have to struggle through life with no sense of happiness and ease.
Like many therapists, I went through something that triggered the need to turn to my family for support. It was these events that continue to encourage me to help others. It was also these incidents that have helped me understand how crippling trauma and anxiety can be, but I also know that these struggles can be overcome and you do not have to try and overcome them alone.
I understand that each one of our paths is uncertain and unique, but you don’t have to travel a negative path; you can create a positive future right now and move forward happy, confident, and free of trauma and anxiety. I can help you.
I earned a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Adler University in Chicago and I am a licensed LPC-Intern via the Texas State Board of Examiners, practiced with the clinical supervision of Fred Tucker, MAC LPCS and trained in several different methods of therapy, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy and rational emotive behavioral (REBT).
My experience as a high school and middle school lacrosse coach sparked my passion for helping people along their happiest and most confident life path as possible.
I use a range of techniques at my Austin-based practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Approaches, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
From our first session, I will teach you relaxing breathing exercises that will help to regulate your nervous system and together we will build exercises that address both the physical, emotional, and psychological side of things.
I focus on both body-focused therapy and what you are thinking. We will work together to devise the tools that work best for you, and that will help you feel confident and happy. I also address all parts of the Wheel of Self (social, physical, psycho, environmental, and emotional) and break the pieces down to help you rebuild your life. I am happy to create exercises for your family, too, to help them understand what you are going through and how to support you effectively.
